Flambo Island Cuisine: Authentic Trinidadian Dining with Fresh Flavors in Sarasota, FL

This was a great dining experience. The food was AMAZING. Everything we had was delicious. Shrimp rolls for appetizers and the three of us split a large salad and it was fresh and flavorful wo the dressing. Dad had the beef stew which made his eyes roll back into his head it was so good and tender. Mom had coconut shrimp and loved it. I had the coconut curry muscles with “bust up shot” bread which is melt in your mouth dipping bread. GO AND ENJOY!!

Husband and I tried this place for the first time and honestly… wow. Every single thing we ordered was crazy good. We got the corn soup, butter chicken, and the pork belly, and all three were standouts. The butter chicken was rich and creamy without being heavy, and the pork belly was legit the best pork belly we’ve ever had. Perfectly crispy, super tender and just ridiculously good. Everything tasted fresh and real... you can tell they care about their ingredients and how they cook. Nothing felt generic or mass-produced. And even if you’ve never tried Trinidadian food before don’t let that stop you. The flavors are bold but super approachable, and there’s something on the menu for everyone. We walked in not totally sure what to expect and ended up loving everything.

This restaurant was, by far, our favorite! We will cherish the memories created here. The atmosphere was nothing short of extremely peaceful, elegant, and romantic. It provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration. A highlight for me was trying a beer from Trinidad-I'm usually not a beer drinker, but this one was truly delicious! The owner is a true gentleman with incredible class. His hospitality truly made a difference. Thank you for making our 24th anniversary week extra special. We are so glad the Lord crossed our paths! We went to Flambo yesterday for the first time because of a friends suggestion, who wanted to try it. We are very happy we did! It was a wonderful experience: Very comfortable seating, amazing deco and a very warm and friendly environment. Kevin and his staff went out of their way to make our visit a wonderful experience. The food Trinidadian style was excellent and the mango dessert out of this world. Flambo is a wonderful addition to the restaurants on the circle. We‘ll definitely come back!

We shared several appetizers. Very delicious. We ordered wings (jerk style), pork belly and lamb chops. We also enjoyed the complimentary pholourie and a great craft cocktail (unique to this restaurant) called a hummingbird. Everything was excellent and the service was perfect. Very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to returning to try more dishes.

Fabulous place staff is so friendly and we tried a variety of dishes and everything was delicious Our daughter had the Mussels and loved them and the sauce. My husband had the beef stew white rice and it was so tender. I had spring rolls with shrimp and the coconut shrimp. Had mango iced tea. Everything was so enjoyable. Open at 4:00 service is great.

The word “restaurant” doesn’t quite do this place justice. This wasn’t just dinner, it was a true dining experience. Chef and owner Anthony is not only incredibly talented in the kitchen, but also a genuinely wonderful person. He took the time to make us feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued. The food was outstanding, full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The service was second to none. Anthony shines not only as a chef, but as a host and business owner who clearly cares about every guest’s experience. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you’re looking for great food, live music, exceptional service, and an unforgettable night out, this is exactly the spot.

Flambo is exquisite! Best new restaurant in town. Food was wonderfully spiced and flavorful. Everyone in our party of 8 loved their dishes. The wonderful singer set the mood as well as the beautiful decor. Chef Anthony from Trinidad spent a lot of time answering our questions- he was delightful. I highly recommend a trip to Flambo as soon as you can!!!
